Why culture matters in language learning

You can memorise vocabulary and master grammar, but without cultural context, language stays flat. Understanding why French people think, argue, eat, protest and create the way they do is what transforms a language learner into a genuine communicator.

France is not a museum. It is a living, arguing, reinventing society — one that has produced some of the world's most important ideas about freedom, equality, food, cinema, philosophy and human rights. And it is changing fast.
